Charlene
Proeger,
Ph.D., LMFT, CMC
Dr. Proeger is an experienced
Professional Geriatric Care Manager. She is also a
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and holds national certifications as a
Certified Care Manager (CMC) and a Registered Guardian. Her experience includes
33 years of providing mental health services
and coordinating community resources for clients and families.
Dr. Proeger has been a Director of the Board of
the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (GCM)
since 2002 and started a two year term on the Executive Committee in 2004. She has
chaired the Chapter Development Committee since 2002. She was
honored with the GCM
President's Award in 2003 and has been a
Fellow
in the GCM Leadership Academy since 2003.
Additional national committees She served as President of the Florida
Geriatric Care Managers Association (FGCMA) from May 1998 through December
2000, and was on the board from 1996 to 2003. She currently serves
as consultant to the FGCMA board, coordinating leadership training for
the Chapter. The Florida Chapter has recognized Dr. Proeger's
contributions. Her peers chose her for the Outstanding Chapter
Member award in 1999 and 2002.
Additional memberships Dr.
Proeger served as an adjunct Instructor at the
University of South Florida, teaching a graduate level course in
the Department of Gerontology (January - April 2001). She was an
Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of Florida, and has
provided supervision for graduate students in counseling.
Additionally, she makes presentations to
caregivers, professionals, and
community organizations on a wide variety of topics related to the elderly. She
has provided leadership training to Care Managers on the National
and Chapter levels.
